28 Students, 2 Staff Members Of Thane School Test Positive For COVID-19

Mumbai: Thirty persons of a school in Thane’s Bhiwandi have tested positive for COVID-19. According to Thane Municipal Corporation, the infected persons include 28 students, aged between six and 15, and two staff members.

According to the district health department, the students of the school were showing symptoms like cold and fever for the last few days, due to which they were tested for antigen by Chimbipara Primary Health. The center conducted antigen tests of over 198 students. The students who tested positive were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Thane for treatment.

“The students are admitted at the hospital for treatment,” said Kailas Pawar, civil surgeon, Thane civil hospital.

“Few students of the school were suffering from cold and fever followed by which they approached the primary health center. The center carried out the antigen test of the students and 30 were positive. The center is now closely looking into the school and taking measures to help the students with treatment,” said Madhav Waghmare, health officer, Bhiwandi taluka.
