29-Yr-Old Acid Attack Accused Absconding For 4 Yrs Held In Delhi

Mumbai: A crime branch team arrested a 29-year-old accused in an acid attack case who had been absconding for four years from Rohini’s Sector 18 in Delhi.

According to the Crime Branch, the accused has been identified as 29-year-old Javed, a resident of Wazirpur, Delhi.

The crime branch said that Javed along with others had thrown acid on his sister-in-law in 2018.

“Later, he also assaulted her and threatened to withdraw the case against her,” the crime branch said.

The Crime Branch also said that two criminal cases were registered against him at Delhi’s Mangolpuri police station.

The crime branch said, ‘He was absconding for the last 4 years.’

The crime branch said, “Javed has five brothers and one sister Najmin. Brother runs a small sweet shop in Delhi’s Wazirpur. In the year 2007, his sister Najmin married Samshuddin, a resident of F Block, Mangolpuri, Delhi.”

“Samshuddin has a property dispute with his brother Salimuddin for a long time, due to which there were frequent quarrels between them. Both the brothers live in the same neighbourhood in Delhi’s Mangolpuri,” the crime branch said.

According to the crime branch statement, the accused disclosed that Javed along with his younger brother Abid had gone to Mangolpuri to meet his sister Najmin on June 22, 2018, where they had a fight with Salimuddin and his wife Shabnam.

The crime branch further said that Javed along with Abid, Najmin and Samshuddin caught Shabnam and threw him down to take revenge and Javed poured acid on his head.

“Javed along with Abid and Samshuddin again assaulted Shabnam on August 17, 2018, and threatened to withdraw his case against him,” the crime branch said.

But this fake menace doesn’t let Shabnam lose her courage. The crime branch stated that Shabnam filed another complaint to the police and a second FIR had been registered against the assailants.
