Woman Raped, Face Burnt With Cigarettes Before Being Killed In UP

Mumbai: A woman was raped and her face burnt with cigarettes before she was killed with an axe by a man who she had promised a job in return for money in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur. The woman failed to get him a job, following which he demanded his money back. The body with injury marks was found on the roadside

The prime accused in the rape and murder case, which took place on December 3, has been arrested.

The accused, Suraj Kumar Sonkar, informed the police that the woman had offered him a job in exchange for money. Upon her inability to secure employment for him, Sonkar insisted on receiving his money back. But the woman faltered, and Sonkar was left hanging. Sonkar, unable to hold back, sexually assaulted her, set fire to her face with cigarettes, and then mercilessly killed her with an axe.

The woman’s body was discovered in Sultanpur by the side of the road. According to the authorities, she was bleeding from her ears and had wounds on her body.

Before the police could find Sonkar and take him into custody, a case had already been filed. The cops retrieved the axe used in the horrific crime, an e-rickshaw, and a cell phone.
