3 Mumbai Spas Raided; 13 Booked For Running Sex Racket, Indulging In Obscene Acts

Mumbai: Police raided three spas in Mumbai last week and booked at least 13 people, including six women, for allegedly running a sex racket and for being involved in obscene acts.

Acting on a tip-off, Kandivali Police sent a thug to Destiny Spa near MG Road in Kandivali (West).

After finding out that the owner and the manager were running the sex racket, an FIR was registered under sections 370(3) of the IPC and sections 3,4,5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

A woman was rescued and sent to the women’s shelter home. Senior Inspector Dinkar Jadhav of Kandivali police station confirmed that owner Ranjan Shetty and manager Manikanth Naidu have been arrested.

Meanwhile, on February 11, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of MBVV Police raided Le Serene Spa after a fake customer discovered that the masseuse was involved in obscene acts. A woman, a worker, manager and owner of the spa were booked under sections 294 (obscene act) and 114 (provocation) of the IPC.

Notably on February 12, Kandivali police raided UCO Spa near Milap Theater in Kandivali (West). Five women and two men have been arrested for committing obscene acts. Assistant Inspector Viraj Jagdale confirmed that the owner is a wanted accused in the case.
