Mumbai: Eight members of a family, including a child, burned to death after their car collided with a truck on Nainital Highway in UP on Saturday, officials said. The car was dragged and caught fire and all the victims were trapped inside the vehicle that was centrally locked, police said.

The incident happened in the Bareilly district of Bhojipura, Uttar Pradesh. Seven people and one child were involved in the deceased, according to the police. The family was from the village of Bahedi in Uttarakhand.

Following the crash, the automobile they were traveling in caught fire, killing every passenger instantly. The SUV’s tire puncture caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
