9 Bangladeshi Immigrants Arrested For Illegally Staying In Thane

Mumbai: Nine immigrants from Saravali village in Bhiwandi tehsil of Maharashtra’s Thane district have been arrested for illegally living in the state, the Thane crime branch informed on Saturday.

Acting on a tip-off, Thane Police arrested all the nine people from Avani Textile Company located in Sarvali, Kalyan Bhiwandi Road, police said.

The arrested Bangladeshis have been identified as Salim Amin Shaikh alias Asgar (30), Rasal Abul Hasan Shaikh (27), Mohd Shine Mohammad Akbarlai Shaikh (24), Mohd Masoom Shidulla Islam (21), Tarun Maniram (21), Suman Maniram (25), Ismail Abu Tahir Khan (19), Azam Yusuf Khan (19) and Mohammad Amir Abu Sufia Khan (26).

According to the police, the main accused Asghar was living in the Nadi Naka area of ​​Bhiwandi for the last 16 years and used to bring other Bangladeshi nationals to work in the area.

A crime branch official said that a case has been registered against the accused under the Indian Passport Act and the Foreigners Act. Further investigation is underway.
