PM Modi, South African Prez Hold Talks To Boost Bilateral Ties

Mumbai: Visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen the nation relationships with South Africa. A talk between Narendra Modi and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to reinforce the ties between two nations and step up cooperation in a range of areas, including defence, security and trade.

Raveesh Kumar, Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs tweeted, “New beginnings to old partnerships. PM @narendramodi warmly welcomes President of #SouthAfrica @CyrilRamaphosa ahead of delegation level talks. This is their fourth meeting within a year, highlighting enhanced engagement with South Africa & the African continent.”

“Fortifying strategic partnership. PM @narendramodi and South African President @CyrilRamaphosa held wide-ranging talks on cooperation in defence & security, trade & investment, skill development, S&T, education and technical cooperation and multilateral forums,” he said in an another tweet.

Where on the other hand, on saturday Ramaphosa will be the chief guest for the Republic Day Parade.

Earlier Mr. Modi met Mr. Ramaphosa on July 25 for the two day BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) whose theme was ‘BRICS in Africa’ in 2018. After the talk between Mr. Narendra Modi and Rapmaphosa in the Summit, Prime Minister signed three MoUs on the cooperation in exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes, the setting up of a Gandhi-Mandela Centre of specialisation for artisan skills, and agricultural research and education.
