Mumbai: Congress leader in Kerala allegedly raped a minor Adivasi girl in Wayanad district of the state, party suspended the leader.
KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran informed that O M George, former president of the Sultan Bathery panchayat and member of the Wayanad district committee of the party has been suspended from the party.
If he found guilty then he would be expelled from the party, he added.
As per reports, the leader is absconding, whereas the case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
According to the reports, parents of the victim used to work at home help at George’s house. The victim allegedly tried to commit suicide last week in connection with the case.
