Abrogation Article 370 Aims At Lasting Peace In Kashmir: Amit Shah

Mumbai: Praising PM Narendra Modi’s decision over Article 370, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said center has a policy of “zero-tolerance” towards terrorism and the decision to repeal Article 370 has been taken for lasting peace in Kashmir.

“Terrorism is a curse for society and the biggest obstacle in the way of development. India is fighting the world’s longest battle against cross-border terrorism. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, we are committed to a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, ”he said.

Amit Shah was addressing the 35th Raising Day ceremony of the National Security Guard (NSG).

India is fighting hard against terrorism across the border in India and for all and has taken a bold decision to repeal Section 370 to establish lasting peace in Kashmir.

“In today’s era when there is no traditional war, India has been affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism for years. To make the country terrorism-free and save Kashmir, Prime Minister Modi has taken a major step by repealing Article 370 from Kashmir I believe save Kashmir. The move will help in maintaining peace in the state, ”Shah said.

The Home Minister said that a force like the NSG was fully capable and equipped to protect the nation from the challenges posed by terrorists.

“Providing security cover in counter-terrorism operations, retaliation, proximate security, bomb disposal squad, national and international events, and other operations, I am confident that our country is safe from any terrorist attack with NSG to protect us,” he said.

A Home Ministry release said that Shah expressed confidence that the NSG will always remain committed to the vision of a ‘world-class zero-error force’ and will play a decisive role in ending terrorism from India.

He said that the NSG has influenced the world with its ability to counter any terrorist attack.

“This instills confidence in the minds of the people of the country that they are in safe hands,” he said, adding that the government set up the 5th Regional Hub of NSG in Gandhinagar in 2016.

He paid tribute to the martyrs of the NSG who have made supreme sacrifice for the nation and said that the force has always upheld its ideal of ‘universal best, security’.

He also congratulated the NSG for hoisting the national flag on Mount Everest.
