BJP-JDU Will Fight Bihar Polls Together, Says Amit Shah

Mumbai: Following the upcoming Bihar Assembly election Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal-United (JDU) will fight together.

Addressing a public rally here, Shah said, “I want to put an end to all rumours by openly declaring here that the next assembly election in Bihar will be contested under Nitish Kumar.”

Assembly elections are due in Bihar in October this year. Opposition parties – RJD, Congress and RLSP – have already started their campaign to defeat the ruling JDU-BJP alliance.

The Union Home Minister also reprimanded the opposition parties for opposing the Anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

“Opposition parties carried out the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) riots, which forced the BJP to hold rallies across the country to make people aware of their nefarious intentions,” he said.

“I have come here to ask the Muslim brothers to read CAA. I have also come to tell Rahul Baba (Rahul Gandhi) and Lalu Prasad Yadav not to mislead people. Mamta didi and Kejriwal Ji, you also do not mislead people. He said that the CAA has received the best response in Bihar.

Shah said, “The CAA intends to help those who came to India after their women were raped in front of their eyes. Their property was taken away. Their places of worship were deserted.”

The CAA grants citizenship to Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Parsi, Buddhist and Christian refugees from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh, who came to India on or before December 31, 2014.
