Amphan Cyclone: 72 People Died In WB, Rs 2.5 Lakh Financial Aid To The Families Of Deceased: CM
Mumbai: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Thursday that 72 people died due to the Super Cyclone AMPHAN, and over thousands of homes were devastated by the cyclone.
Banerjee said that she had never seen such a disaster before and will ask the Prime Minister to visit the state and see the situation.
“There have been casualties. I announce a compensation of Rs 2.5 Lakh to the families of those who died in #CycloneAmphan,” said CM Mamata Banerjee

Yesterday, Banerjee claimed that the destruction by the AMPHAN cyclone was worse than the COVID19 pandemic, and damages over the state could be Rs 1 Lakh crore.
Coastal districts as North and South 24 Parganas are totally ripped off through the cyclone and there was no communication in the region. While Kolkata airport was flooded due to the same.

Over 6.5 Lakh people were evacuated from Odisha and Bengal due to the super cyclone AMPHAN.
