Himachal Pradesh Reports 10 New COVID19 Cases, Tally Reaches 292

Mumbai: Officials said ten more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Himachal Pradesh on Friday, with 292 cases of coronavirus in the state.

Among the fresh cases, five people were reported from Hamirpur and Kangra, saying all of them had recently returned from other states.

Officials said four of them had returned from Maharashtra, three from Delhi, two from Gujarat and one from Rajasthan.

Deputy Commissioner Harikesh Meena said that a 31-year-old man and his 28-year-old wife in Hamirpur tested positive for the disease.

The couple had recently returned from Ahmedabad and were studying in a college in Nadaun.

He said a 34-year-old man at a school in Bakarti, a 32-year-old woman at a hotel in Nadaun and a 57-year-old man at Laliar School also tested positive.

Their samples were taken on May 26 and the reports arrived on Friday morning, he added.

A senior district police official said that there are now a total of 98 COVID-19 cases in Hamirpur, which is more than one-third of the reported reports in Himachal Pradesh. One person died while 13 patients were recovered.

The number of active cases in the state is now 205, while 81 COVID-19 patients have been recovered, six have died.

Hamirpur has the highest number of active cases at 84, with 53 in Kangra, 15 in Una, 14 in Solan, 11 in Bilaspur, nine in Chamba and Mandi, seven in Shimla, two in Sirmaur and one in Kullu.
