Cyclone Nisarga Intensifies Into 100 kmph, Likely To Make Landfall In Raigarh

Mumbai: Cyclone Nisarga has intensified into a severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 100 to 110 kmph. The eye diameter has decreased about 65 km in the past hour.

Around 1,500 people have been successfully evacuated by the NDRF team who took shelter in Alibaug, Raigarh.

The cyclone is likely to severely impact the coastal regions of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the BMC has issued a set of dos and don’ts to prevent any threat to livelihoods. 

Cyclone Nisarga was formed due to the depression in the Arabian sea that further deepened and turned into a severe cyclone. It is likely to make Landfall near Alibaug in Raigarh.

Several parts of Maharashtra, Goa an,d Gujarat experience rainfalls.
