Mumbai: A Health Department official said on Wednesday that 2,997 new coronavirus cases have been reported in the last 24 hours in Pune district.
The death toll in the district rose to 2,619, with 67 patients suffering from an infection.
“In 2,997 cases, 1,584 are from Pune Municipal Corporation limits, in which 69,235 patients have been registered.
However, 1,449 patients were discharged from hospitals, ”the official said.
In Pimpri Chinchwad with 1,024 cases, the COVID-19 tally stood at 31,643.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India on Thursday recorded the highest one-day spike in 66,999 cases and reported 942 deaths in the last 24 hours.
