Maharashtra: Tourist Places To Reopen Outside Containment Zones
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Wednesday relaxed COVID-19 related restrictions in the state. The Uddhav Thackeray led government has allowed the water sector, Naka Vihar, and indoor recreation activities to go beyond the permitted areas.

Apart from this, the government has also allowed the reopening of amusement parks and tourist spots outside the permitted areas.
A government circular on 21 December stated, “Indoor recreation activities, including entertainment/amusement parks, will be allowed to function provided the same is outside containment zones,”

The announcement comes a day after the state of Maharashtra reported 3,106 new COVID-19 cases, with a total coronavirus virus of 19,02,458. The state health department said that after the death of 75 people in the state, the death toll in the state has increased to 48,876.
On the other hand, The Maharashtra government had announced a one-night curfew in the state’s municipal limits in view of concerns over the discovery of a new coronavirus strain in the United Kingdom. The night curfew will remain in force from January 5, from 11 am to 6 am.

The Maharashtra government has also announced that on international – direct or transit flights coming from European or Middle East countries – would be mandatorily sent to institutional quarantine for 14 days apart from being made to undergo RT-PCR test for COVID-19.
