Mumbai: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said on Wednesday that there have been 11,610 new COVID-19 cases and 100 deaths in India in the last 24 hours.
With the new cases, the coronavirus virus has reached 1,09,37,320 in the country, including 1,36,549 active cases and 1,06,44,858 discharges.
In the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 1,55,913 with 100 more deaths due to the virus.
According to the Health Ministry, 88,57,341 vaccine doses were administered through 1,90,665 sessions till Tuesday evening.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, the total number of samples tested till Tuesday was 20,79,77,229. The IMCR also stated that 6,44,931 samples were tested on 16 February.
The Union Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday that India reported four cases of the South Africa version of SARS-CoV-2 and a Brazilian version of the strain.
