Jharkhand: Complete Lockdown From 5 pm On Saturday To 6 am On Monday

Mumbai: The Jharkhand government said on Wednesday that there will be a complete lockdown in the state from 5 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday. Essential services will be exempted.

Barring Jamshedpur, the opening hours of shops in other districts have been extended by 2 hours. The State Health Minister said that now shops will be allowed to remain open till 4 pm in 23 districts.

The decision was taken after 603 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state within the last 24 hours. The death toll rose to 13.

According to the state health department, Jharkhand has 5,099 active cases of COVID-19. The state’s total tally stands at 3.42 lakh and 5,073 deaths.

The mortality rate in the state remained at 1.48 per cent, higher than the national average of 1.20 per cent. The recovery rate in Jharkhand has, however, improved to 97.02 per cent, better than the national average of 94.30 per cent.
