SP Chief Akhilesh To Fight His First UP Polls From Karhal Seat In Mainpuri

Mumbai: Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav will fight the upcoming UP Assembly elections- his first- from the Karhal seat in Mainpuri district, party general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav said during a press conference on Saturday.  Also Read: Priyanka Takes Back Her ‘UP CM Face’ Comment, Says ‘No Such Decision Taken’

“I am making a formal official announcement now. Ever since the speculation about the candidature of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the assembly elections has come to the fore, there has been talking of Akhilesh contesting the 2022 elections.

Yogi Adityanath and Akhilesh Yadav have been MPs before, but they never contested assembly elections.

When he became the Chief Minister, both of them took the path of Legislative Council to become members of the UP Legislature. Akhilesh is currently the MP from Azamgarh
