After The Coalition Of BJP And AIADMK In Tamil Nadu, DMK Declared Congress An Election Coalition

Mumbai: According to the ANI News Agency report, DMK and Congress have decided to share 10 seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Congress will contest nine seats in Tamil Nadu and the only seat in Puducherry in the alliance with the DMK.

Addressing the reporters, DMK President, M K Stalin, said, “The constituencies (9 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu and 1 seat in Puducherry) to be given to Congress will be decided in due course of time after holding talks with alliance partners.”

The distribution of seats will be done in due course of time. The seats will be identified in consultation with the alliance partner,” he said.

This came after AIADMK and BJP finalizing the alliance for the forthcoming Lok Sabha in Tamil Nadu. AIADMK will contest 25 seats, BJP and PMK will contest elections in 5 and 7 seats respectively. There are total of 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu.

As per reports, the EC is likely to announce dates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the first week of March. The term of the current Lok Sabha is ending on June 3. The election will be in 6 to 7 phases.
