Agnipath ‘Pro-Youth’, Opposing It Not In Interest Of Youngsters: Pradhan

Mumbai: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday called the Agnipath recruitment scheme ‘pro-youth’ and said that opposing the scheme is not in the interest of the country’s youngsters.

Addressing party workers and leaders at the Police Ground here, Pradhan said that after serving in the Army for four years, these youths would be accommodated in other forces and organisations.

The minister, who looks after the education and skill development portfolios, asked the party cadre to be vigilant against the “evil” of opposition parties which, he said, are bent on exploiting the youth against the ruling party.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, former Chief Minister PK Dhumal, and several other leaders of the party participated in the day-long sammelan.
