Air India Suspends Senior Pilot Licence For Failing To Take BA test

Mumbai :  In a recent times Air India Senior Pilot Arvind Kathpalia’s licence has been suspended for three years with the effect  from Sunday.

“In a case of Air India pilot Capt. Arvind Kathpalia being detected BA positive yesterday, the privileges of his licence have been suspended for the period of three years” Directorate General of Civil Aviation told to ANI.

On Sunday Arvind was scheduled to fly Al-111 flight from Delhi to London, was found positive in a pre flight BA test and was declared “not fit to fly”.

According to the Indian Commercial Pilots Association Arvind has skipped the BA test in January 19 last year as well, were after DGCA had suspended Kathpalia for the period of three months.

It is mandatory for all the pilots to undertake the BA test which ensure that they are not in an inebriated state before entering the cockpit.
