“Aisi Dhamkiyan Ko Seriously Nai Lena Chahiye, Our Security Forces Are Well Equipped,” Raveesh Kumar On Al-Qaeda Threatening Video

Mumbai: In response to the video released by Al-Qaeda on Kashmir and Indian Army, India on Thursday said it was not the first time such a threat had been issued and added that its security forces are fully equipped to deal with such threats.

In a video, Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri said terrorists should deal “unrelenting blows” to ensure the Indian economy “bleeds” and the country suffers.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, “Aisi dhamkiyaan jo hai na hum sunte rehte hain, mujhe nahi lagta inko seriously lena chahiye. Our security forces are well equipped and capable of maintaining our territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

In the video, Zawahiri can be heard saying, “I am with the idea that the Mujahideen (armed militant) in Kashmir – at least at this level – with the single mind on provoking unrelated blasts on Indian Army and the government so as to bleed the Indian economy and make India suffer sustained losses in manpower and equipment.”

After Osama bin Laden’s death in Pakistan, Indian security forces, who verified the video of Zawahiri, who became al-Qaeda chief, said that its aim was to bring dissident terrorists together in the Kashmir Valley.

In the video, a picture of terrorist Zakir Musa has been flashed, as Zawahiri spoke on Kashmir. Musa, who established the Indian branch of Al-Qaeda named Gha Ansar Gazwat-ul-Hind, was removed by Indian security forces in May this year.

Zawahiri said, “All Pakistan Army and government are interested in exploiting the Mujahideen for specific political purposes, only to dump them or persecute them later.”

He said that Pakistan’s “struggle with India is essentially a secular rivalry on borders managed by American intelligence”, they alleged.

Zawahiri linked “jihad against a huge array of Muslims” to “fight for Muslims in Kashmir”, saying that the two were connected.

He described Pakistani intelligence agencies as the primary tool in America of Pakistan in Pakistan.

Zawahiri carries a reward of USD 25 million on its head, announced by the United States.
