Amit Shah launches ‘Private Security Agency Licensing Portal’

Mumbai: home minister launched ‘Private Security Agency Licensing Portal’ that will help the private agencies for the easy licensing process. He launched the portal at a function in New Delhi.

Speaking at the function, he said the portal can prevent with fraud private agencies and it will help to cross-check the police verification of every security guard. he also added that the portal will soon be user-friendly as it will be functional in languages like Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil and Telugu in upcoming months.

This portal covers 90 per cent of the state police stations. it will help to increase the enrollment of such private security agencies and will train guards related to criminal incidents. He also specifies that the agency should also focus on IPC provisions and CrPC, filing complaint etc.

It will enable the agencies to explore their business and add credibility to the same. This portal will also employ around 2 crore people.

This portal will be a boon for the private agencies as they will overcome the challenges like low remuneration, and minimum wages lack training etc. According to the Association of Private Security Agencies (APSA), there are 1500 private security agencies and 4 lakh private security personnel who were facing such problems.

According to the Home Minister, this will give overall speed to private security guards’ sector. Also, he will speak to all the state Chief Minister to run an awareness campaign among the people they should believe in only licensed security agencies.
