Due to heavy rains in Mumbai Mahalaxmi Express was stuck between Badlapur and Wangani with 700 passengers for more than 10 hours.

A team of NDRF personnel reached the spot with eight boats and then there were three diver teams and some naval crew who came with inflatable boats, life jackets, and medical supplies.

A helicopter with well-equipped divers also helped in the search and rescue operations, but due to bad weather, Navy and Air Force helicopters returned to the base after conducting aerial surveys.

A special train with 19 coaches will now leave from Kalyan to Kolhapur with the passengers of Mahalaxmi Express.
