Anti-CAA: UP Police In Action, 1113 Arrested, Death Toll Rises To 19

In cross-firing during the protests, more than 288 police personnel was injured and out which 61 received bullet injuries

Mumbai: Anti-CAA protests had burned down the county, while Uttar Pradesh saw many such violent protests.

Almost after a week UP police is in full action mode. Till date over 1113 people are being arrested for the violence, and 5558 are kept under detention as preventive actions.

Officials also said that the number of deaths due to these protests are raised up at 19 and one is in a very critical stage in Firozabad.

Action against the people spreading hatred and violence on Social media is also taken by UP Police. Around 124 people arrested for posting inciting content on social media, 93 FIRs registered. The action was taken on 19409 social media posts. UP police blocked 9372 Twitter, 9856 Facebook, and 181 YouTube profiles.

The day before, Police had issued notices to arms license holders in the cities were protests happened, including 517 in Meerut and 28 in Rampur. In police raids, the found 35 illegal weapons from different places.

An eight-year-old kid died during these protests, but the number doesn’t count her. As an officer told the news agency PTI that the kid wasn’t killed during police action, but in a stampede where protesters were retreating.
