Arvind Kejriwal To Set Sports University In Delhi

Mumbai: In a recent development, national capital chief minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that his party Aam Aadmi Party will set up a ‘Sports University’ in the national capital.

Kejriwal said, “Earlier players used to feel insecure about their future, but under this university, they will be able to devote all their time to sports. They will get a bachelor’s degree in various sports like cricket, hockey, football, etc.”

He said, “Through their degree, they will be able to apply for any government job that has graduation as an eligibility criterion. They will be able to take the exam like civil services.”

The university, Kejriwal said, will also cater to sportspersons who struggle for employment all their lives after failing to achieve the desired success in their fields.

Kejriwal said, “This will give dignity to the players.”

Kejriwal further said that the bill for the same has been passed by the cabinet and will now be sent to the Lieutenant Governor for his approval. The Delhi government aims to pass the bill in the winter session.

The Sports University will offer undergraduate degrees, postgraduate degrees, and doctorates in various sports.
