Authorities Have Traced All Who Went To Delhi Tablighi Jamaat Event: Maha CM

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday informed that officials now have traced all people who attended Delhi’s Jamaat event. He further also warned citizens to spread false messages and upload such videos for entertainment and said that like COVID-19, there is a communal virus.

“We did not allow what happened in Delhi to happen in Maharashtra. It was allowed (the Tablighi Jamaat incident) earlier, but later we withdrew the permission due to the situation. Authorities now have traced all those who went to the Delhi event from our state,” Thackeray said.

“Like the COVID-19 virus, there is also a communal virus. I am warning those who are spreading the wrong message to citizens and uploading such videos too for fun. This COVID-19 virus sees no religion,” he added.

The Chief Minister further said that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has offered his office, while many hotels are coming forward for help.

Thackeray said, “Everyone is helping in their end. I am thankful to all those who are helping us right now.”
He also clarified that until the next notice, “no event, program or any gathering crowd will be allowed.”

“After April 14, we will decide what we have to do as we see that the number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra is increasing drastically,” he said.

Around five lakh people have been provided with food and shelter, Thackeray said.

“Therefore, no one needs to go anywhere. I already had a word with the chief ministers of other states. If someone from Maharashtra gets stuck in other states, inform the local administration, to the state’s chief minister. Be informed, they will take care of you. Whereas, if someone from other states is here in Maharashtra, there is nothing to worry about it. We will take care of them,” he said.

We are building up COVID-19 hospitals in Maharashtra, he added.

Thackeray further said that vegetable and grocery shops are open 24X7.

“Then why do we need to make room? As a responsible citizen, keep your safe distance,” he said and said, “We will win this war against the coronavirus.”
