Bihar Govt Is Distributing Liquor In The Name Of Chhath Puja: Tejashwi

Mumbai: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Friday alleged that the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government is distributing liquor and giving saree to women in the name of Chhath Puja.

“The Nitish Kumar government is distributing liquor, giving sarees to women in the name of Chhath Puja, and distributing money to people. If the government would have done some development work, then this situation of distributing these things wouldn’t have arisen,” the RJD leader said.

Referring to yesterday’s incident, a state police officer was removed from election duty after the opposition RJD said it was “informing voters” for the bypoll in the assembly constituency.

“Officials are pressurized to make people vote in favour of a specific party. Yesterday on our complaint the Election Commission removed the DSP. This shows our complaint was right. The government is using all tactics in these elections but will not succeed. We will win,” Tejashwi Yadav said.

According to an order issued by Darbhanga Senior Superintendent of Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dilip Kumar Jha was removed from election duty “due to administrative reasons”. Jha was on election duty in the Kusheshwar Asthan assembly constituency.

The action was taken on the same day that Tejashwi, in a press conference, publicized an email sent by RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha to the Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar last week.

Elections for Tarapur and Kusheshwar Asthan are set to take place on October 30 due to the untimely deaths of the sitting MLAs, both from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United).
