Bihar Govt To Pay Rail Fare Of Stranded Workers, Students Returning To State: Nitish Kumar

Mumbai: In another development, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Monday that the stranded people of Bihar including migrants and students will not have to pay for railway tickets when they return to the state via special trains and their fare will be paid by the state government.

“I would like to thank the Center for considering the suggestion of running a special train to send back the people of Bihar, students and labourers stranded in other states. To all the people of Bihar, who are like students from different parts of the country Is trapped in migrant labourers and tourists, railways will bring them to Bihar and their rent will be paid by the state government.

He said, “Once they reach Bihar they will be kept in quarantine and after 14 days they will be allowed to return to their final destination. Everything will be paid by the Bihar government.”

“A quarantine centre has been set up here for them. They will all stay in the quarantine centre for 21 days. After which they will be given a minimum amount of Rs 1000 for each. Under this scheme, Rs 1000 has already been given. 19 lakh people in the state. ”

Six more COVID-19 cases have been reported from Bihar, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 523, state Principal Secretary (Health) Sanjay Kumar said on Monday.
