BJP Eyes To Get Support Letters From One Cr People Under Mega Campaign On CAA

More than 250 press conferences, more than 1,000 rallies will be held as part of the campaign to clear the air and create a pro-CA narrative in the country

Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is looking to get support letters addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to more than one crore people as part of its comprehensive awareness campaign on CAA, under which the party, RSS and its allies will be around three crore families across India Contact with.

The mega campaign will be launched in various cities on 5 January by BJP President Amit Shah, Executive Chairman JP Nadda and other senior leaders and will culminate in the Mega Rally on 15 January.

According to a circular of state BJP units, the party has formed several dedicated groups of its leaders to approach intellectuals, Dalits, priests, minorities and other communities on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Despite the continuing anti-CAA protests in many parts of the country, the BJP will try to allay fears and apprehensions during the mass communication campaign.

BJP general secretary Bhupendra Yadav said that the party would counter the lies of opposition parties, including Congress, regarding the provisions of the new law.

“The BJP will take refugees who visit India at their rallies due to atrocities in their countries,” he said.

There have been large-scale protests in many parts of the country, which turned violent in some places, against the controversial law that grants citizenship to non-Muslims in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
