BJP Open To Idea Of India’s Engagement With More Countries, Developing New Relationships: Ram Madhav

Mumbai:– The National General Secretary Ram Yadav called India to take a more “proactive role in the region” in order to check China’s One Belt One Road Initiative. He was involved in the BJP’s entry to the International Democrat Union, a worldwide grouping of a right of center political parties.

Madhav was seconded to the BJP and appointed as one of its national general secretaries in 2014.

While speaking about the US- India Strategic the Madhav said, “BJP is open to the idea that we should engage with more and more nations and make sure our interests are also taken care of while we develop new relationships.”

According to him the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership is a big area of activity which will be Fruitful and also the reason to increase the economy and to improve better relationship status with other countries.

He also said that “Question of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is in the realm of government, it has expressed its intention to go forward but there is an elephant in the room, we have to be careful about it,”

According to ASEAN, this deal will provide “a framework aimed at lowering trade barriers and securing improved market access for goods and services for businesses in the region”.

“We have a trade agreement with ASEAN, we have a free trade agreement with Japan, and there are a couple of other big economies which will also become a part of this agreement (RCEP) once we sign it. There are certain issues and concerns with regard to those economies,” Madhav added.

The RCEP grouping has put on India to convince 15 other member countries bilaterally on its demands by 24 October, failing which pending issues will be put before the heads of states who are scheduled to meet on 4 November in Bangkok to announce the conclusion of negotiations.
