BJP, Shiv Sena Will Contest Maha Polls Together: CM Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai: On the eve of the launch of his public outrage with the aim of accelerating before the assembly elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis repeated the BJP on Wednesday and will contest the election simultaneously unlike Shiv Sena 2014.

Speaking at a function after joining the four Congress MLAs and the NCP in BJP, the Chief Minister said that the BJP, Shiv Sena and allies would like to “break records of winning more seats in the state elections”.

“The BJP, the Shiv Sena and allied parties will contest the assembly elections jointly. We want to break the record of winning the maximum number of seats in Maharashtra,” the chief minister said.

Pointing out the possible discord about the sharing of seats, a BJP leader said that Vaibhav and Kolambkar generally contested against the opponents of Shiv Sena from his constituency Akole and Wadala.

“As they have joined the BJP, the party will most likely be in their assembly constituencies from their constituencies. The question of one million dollars is whether the Shiv Sena will be ready to share those seats with the BJP?” he said.

Earlier, on Tuesday, three MLAs of the NCP and one of the Congress resigned from the state Legislative Assembly.

They joined the BJP in the presence of the chief minister and state BJP president Chandrakant Patil on Wednesday morning.
