Budget 2020 People-Friendly: Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal

Mumbai: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday welcomed the budget and termed it “pro-people” as it was structured on the overall theme of ‘Ease of Living’.

Sonowal said in a statement that the budget would serve the purpose and aspirations of all sections.

He said it would help Assam and other northeastern states climb the ladder of “optimal growth” in the form of “Kisan Rail” and help farmers in the uninterrupted supply of their products and sell them in international markets in view of the government. ‘Act East Policy’.

Sonowal said that the farmers of Assam have a “respectable position” in the national agricultural landscape and added that the provision of ‘Kisan Rail’ and ‘Kisan Udan’ is the same for acknowledging the skills of the farmers of the state.

He said, “The budget provision will strengthen the agro-economy of the state.”

He welcomed the budgetary provision to select Sivasagar among the five archaeological sites in the country, which were developed as iconic sites with museums on site.

Sonowal also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the budget.
