CM Pramod Sawant Wins In Sanquelim, Says ‘BJP Will Form Government In Goa’

Sawant retained the Sankelim constituency by defeating Congress candidate Dharmesh Sagalani by a margin of over 650 votes. Also Read: Congratulations To People Of Punjab For This Revolution: Arvind Kejriwal

He said he had already sought the appointment of Goa Governor to stake a claim to form the next government.

Sawant also said that independent MLA Chandrakant Shetty has extended support to the BJP.

BJP leading in 20 seats will meet the Goa Governor today and stake a claim to form the government in the coastal state. According to reports, BJP is confident of getting a simple majority in the state and has said that the swearing-in ceremony will be held on March 14.

Exit polls released by various agencies had predicted a neck-and-neck contest between various players in the state. Polls to elect the new state Assembly were held on February 14.
