Coronavirus: 60 People From Pune Connected With Nizamuddin Markaz Gathering Quarantined

Mumbai: Pune district collector, Naval Kishore Ram, said that 60 people from Pune have so far been kept in connection with the Nizamuddin Markaz program in Delhi, in which more than 130 people from the state participated ANI reported.

Ram said, “No one has symptoms and samples are being sent for testing. Tracing is on for others.”

He said, “The total number of people from Pune, who attended the event in Nizamuddin Markaz, Delhi, is over 130. Many of them are either not in Pune or are inaccessible. Their search is on.”

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain had said that officials are not sure about the exact number of people involved in the incident, but it is estimated that 1,500-1,700 people had gathered at the Markaz building.

A religious gathering was held at the Markaz Bhawan of Nizamuddin from 13-15 March.

Total cases of coronavirus in India reached 1397 on Tuesday after 146 new infections were reported in the last 24 hours across the country.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 35, while 123 cases were cured or discharged after treatment.
