Coronavirus Curfew In Goa Extended Till 7 am On June 7

Mumbai: The Goa government announced on Saturday that a coronavirus-induced curfew in the state has been extended for another week. Announcing this on Twitter, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that restrictions in the state will continue till seven on the morning of June 7.

This decision has been taken in view of the growing COVID-19 infection in the state. The government had earlier imposed a total curfew of 15 days which was later extended to the end of this month. Shops related to essential services will be open from 7 am to 1 pm during the curfew. Home delivery of food will be allowed between 7 am and 7 pm.

As per the guidelines issued earlier by the Goa government, all casinos, bars, sports complexes, auditoriums, community halls, swimming pools, cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes in the state will remain closed.

All schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions along with all religious places will remain closed. Except for official ceremonies, the gathering of more than five people in public places in Goa will also be banned.

On Friday, 1,055 individuals tested positive for COVID-19, while 32 died from an infection in the state. With this, the COVID-19 caseload of the coastal state has increased to 1,53,456 and the toll has increased to 2,570, according to the Health Department.

It said that after 1,396 discharges from hospitals during the day, the number of recovers in the state reached 1,35,560, adding that there are now 15,326 active cases left in the state.
