Coronavirus Pandemic: Night Curfew Imposed In Amritsar

Mumbai: Amid the increase in COVID-19 cases, the authorities decided to impose a night curfew in Amritsar, Punjab on Thursday. The night curfew will be from 11 pm to 5 am.

Earlier, the Punjab government-imposed curfew and stringent restrictions in Rupnagar, Mohali, Ludhiana, Patiala and other districts to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Punjab recorded 2,039 new infections in March, bringing the figure to 2.03 lakh. Thirty-five Corona patients succumbed to the pathogens, bringing the fatal number to 6,172.

According to the latest bulletin of the Health Department, out of the total positive positive infections, Jalandhar has 277 cases, Ludhiana 233, Mohali 222, Patiala 203 and Hoshiarpur 191.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting via video conference with several Chief Ministers and Heads of Union Territories to take stock of the coronavirus situation.

During a virtual conversation with PM Modi, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh urged the Center to allow states to vaccinate all age groups in selected areas.
