Covaxin Gets WHO Approval For Emergency Use Listing

Mumbai: The World Health Organization (WHO) has approved the Emergency Use List (EUL) for Covaxin, a COVID-19 vaccine from Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech.

Earlier, a WHO panel had sought additional clarification from the manufacturer of Covaxin to conduct a final EUL risk-benefit assessment for global use of the vaccine.

The approval was made on the recommendation of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for Emergency Use Listing (TAG-EUL), an independent advisory panel to WHO for listing a Covid19 vaccine for emergency use under the EUL process.
