COVID-19: 43 Test Positive In Andhra Pradesh, State Tally At 87

Mumbai: Andhra Pradesh saw an upsurge in the number of COVID-19 positive patients, with 43 cases confirmed on Wednesday. All these patients had earlier attended a religious meeting in Nizamuddin Markaz, Delhi.

Four more novel coronavirus cases were detected Tuesday evening, bringing the state count to 44. All were from Visakhapatnam and had a history of travelling to Delhi Markaz.

On Wednesday morning, a surgeon with COVID-19 positive numbers was seen with 43 testings positive and doubling the state’s number of fatal virus-infected patients.

A total of 373 cases were tested between 9 pm and 9 am on Tuesday night, 43 of which were confirmed positive.

Of these, fifteen are from Kadapa district, thirteen are from West Godavari district, five are from Chittoor district, four are from Prakasam district, two each are from East Godavari and Prakasam district, and one each from Visakhapatnam and Krishna district.

The Chief Minister has appealed to all those who came forward in the Delhi Markaz meeting and voluntarily conducted tests to control the spread.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that the total number of coronavirus cases in India reached 1637 on Tuesday. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 38, while 133 cases were cured or discharged after treatment.
