COVID-19 Situation Serious In Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Indore: Govt

Mumbai: The government said on Monday that the COVID-19 situation was “particularly grim” in Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata and parts of West Bengal.

The government will send six teams for on-spot assessment of these places, they added.

The situation in West Bengal’s Howrah, Purba Medinipur, North 24 Parganas, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Jalpaiguri is also serious, the government further said.

In a dialogue for the state governments and union territories, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that there have been several incidents of violence against COVID-19 frontline healthcare professionals, a complete violation of social security norms and movement of vehicles …

According to the Union Health Ministry, the death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 543 and on Monday the number increased to 17,265 in the country. The situation is “particularly grim” in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra.
