COVID-19: Thane Gets Two Drive-Through Testing Centres

Mumbai: Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has set up drive-through COVID-19 testing facilities for suspected patients at two traffic junctions in Thane city of Maharashtra, a civic official said on Tuesday.

Deputy municipal commissioner Sandeep Malvi said that foster minister Eknath Shinde and private lab campaigned through the testing facilities at Cadbury and Kalwa traffic junctions.

Those who want to get tested need to first get a prescription from the doctors and register themselves.
They can then go to the centres at a specified time, he said, adding that the test results will be made available online within 24 hours.

He said that doctors, lab technicians and trained personnel were stationed at these facilities, which would be open from 10 am to 6 pm.

Malvi said that people do not need to go to private laboratories for testing, they can only visit these centres.
