COVID-19 Vaccination Stopped In Satara, Sangli, Panvel: Maha Minister

Mumbai: Maharashtra Minister Rajesh Tope on Thursday said that due to vaccine shortage, coronavirus vaccination has been stopped in districts like Satara, Sangli and Panvel.

Tope reported that the Satara, Sangli and Panvel centres have halted the COVID-19 vaccination campaign after running out of stock.

The Health Minister had earlier said that his government will take up issues of COVID-19 vaccine and treatment drug shortages in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a virtual meeting scheduled for today.

He further said that instead of mentioning vaccines from other countries, supply them first in our own states. Maharashtra wants at least 40 lakh vaccine doses every week.

Maharashtra witnessed 55,469 new COVID-19 cases and 297 deaths on Wednesday – the highest by any state in India. The active number of cases in the state is 4,72,283. The death toll in the state has risen to 56,330.
