Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Inaugurates 2.85 km RTR Flyover

Mumbai: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the 2.85 km signal-free new RTR flyover on Tuesday, and said a few more such projects will come up in the national capital before the end of his government’s tenure.

Rao Tula Ram Flyover’s elevated corridor, built at a cost of Rs 205 crores on the Outer Ring Road, will help strengthen this area and it will prove to be a boon for those coming from South Delhi and Noida to IGI Airport.

In his address after inaugurating the flyover, Kejriwal said, “In 15 years, the Sheila Dikshit government created 70 flyovers. In the last four and a half years, our (AAP) government has created 23 flyovers.”

“We do our work, but we do not do much advertising. Now, it is for those people who have spread the word about the work done in the last four and a half years.”

Targeting his opponents, the AAP chief said that after the inauguration of the Signature Bridge, a member of the Opposition party demanded credit for the project.

He said, “We believe in doing our work and are not involved in dirty politics. The Delhi government has done a lot of work in education, health and other fields, and our work will speak.”

Out of Munirka Flyover, the newly completed flyover branches and ends before Army Research and Referral Hospital near Subroto Park near National Highway 8.

The construction of this elevated corridor began in November 2014. It was to be completed by November 2016 but missed a lot of timeframes.

Delhi PWD Minister Satyendar Jain, RK Puram MLA Pramila Tokas and AAP MLA Somnath Bharti were also present at the event which took place on a section of the flyover.
