Goa CM Pramod Sawant Remembers Parrikar On ‘Guru Purnima’

Mumbai: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant paid homage to his predecessor late Manohar Parrikar in the state assembly on the occasion of ‘Guru Purnima’ on Tuesday.

Parrikar, 63, died on March 17 this year following a pancreatic ailment.

When the house was assembled on Tuesday, Sawant recalled the former Chief Minister Parrikar and said that he was his “political guru”.

The Chief Minister told the house, “I would like to pay tribute to late Manohar Parrikar on this day. He is my political guru and because of him I am in this position.”

Sawant said there were many other people also who helped him in his life and he remembers them on this day.

Guru Poornima is celebrated annually on the full moon day in the Hindu calendar month of Ashadha when people express gratitude and appreciation towards their gurus.
