Delhi CM Announces ₹50,000/Hectare Aid For Crops Damaged Due To Rains

Kejriwal also claimed that this compensation given by his government is the highest in the country

Mumbai: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday announced compensation to farmers of Rs.50,000 per hectare of damaged crops due to unseasonal rains in the national capital.

The unseasonal rains in the month of October have caused a lot of damage to the crops as the farmers suffered heavy losses in rural areas of Delhi.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said, “Farmers’ crops have been damaged by unseasonal rains. Farmer is sad, don’t be sad. As always, the government is with you. I’ve issued orders that farmers who have lost their crops will be given compensation of Rs 50,000 per hectare.”

The CM further said that all sub-divisional magistrates (SDM) and district magistrates (DM) Re conducting surveys and once they are done the farmers will receive their compensation.

“All SDMs-DMs are conducting surveys, I hope it’ll complete within 2 weeks after which you’ll get your compensation in bank accounts in 1.5-2 months,” Delhi CM.

Kejriwal also claimed that this compensation given by his government is the highest in the country.

On Sunday, the national capital was hit by heavy rain, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas, causing inconvenience for commuters.
