‘If He Wants To Eat Crow… He Can’: Harish Rawat Reacts On Captain’s Hope Of Seat With BJP

Amarinder Singh on Tuesday announced that he will soon float his own political party

Mumbai: Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat on Wednesday has attacked Captain Amarinder Singh on his announcement of the new party and said that he can eat crow & go with BJP if he wants to.

“If he wants to eat crow & go with BJP, he can. Who can stop him if he can’t stay with his old commitment to secularism? He was considered a symbol of ‘Sarvdharm Sambhav’ &connected to Congress’ traditions for a long. If he wants to go, he should,” Harish Rawat

Amarinder Singh on Tuesday announced that he will soon float his own political party. He also said if the farmers’ issue is resolved, then he is hopeful of a seat arrangement with the BJP.

Reacting to this, Rawat also added that the way BJP has dealt with farmers agitation cannot be forgiven and that captain has killed the ‘secular Amarinder’ within him.

“Who can forgive BJP that has kept farmers at the borders for 10 months? Can Punjab forgive them for the manner in which farmers’ agitation has been dealt with? His statement is really shocking. It seems he has killed the ‘secular Amarinder’ within him,” Congress leader Harish Rawat.

“Congress will not suffer any loss, this will actually divide the votes of our rivals. Congress will not be affected. Our votes will depend on the performance of the Channi govt, the way Channi has started, it has created a good impression before Punjab & the entire nation,” he added.

Harish had gone to meet Rahul Gandhi and talk about Uttarakhand. He briefed Rahul Gandhi on the situation in the natural calamity struck state, as elections are to be held in the state next year.

Harish Rawat will also meet the Congress President later in the day.
