Distinction Role Between Men And Women In War Is Blurring: CDS Bipin Rawat At SCO Webinar

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was also present at the SCO-International Webinar on ‘Role of Women in the Armed Forces

Mumbai: Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat on Thursday appreciated the presence of women in the armed forces and said that women soldiers training has helped them provide ‘good strength to perform their tasks.

” Women today are serving the armed forces across the world. Women soldiers’ training in the Indian Army has been hard and it has helped them in good strength to perform their tasks in various terrains,” General Bipin Rawat addressed the SCO-International Webinar on ‘Role of Women in the Armed Forces. Also Read: Happy That Women Will Join NDA From Next Year: Rajnath Singh At SCO

He further added that the line between men and women has blurred, adding that women have always proved themselves at distinct roles.

“Today, the distinction between the role of men and women in warfighting is blurring…Women have proved their mettle in combat roles such as fighter pilots, paratroopers, submarines. They will continue to do so in future, too,” said CDS Bipin Rawat.

Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat gave the welcome address at the international webinar.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was also present in the webinar and gave the inaugural address. Singh expressed his joy by sharing the information that women will join NDA from next year.

Apart from India, speakers of the SCO member countries from China, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan also shared their perspectives in the session.
