Do Not Want To Be A Minister Due To Health Reasons, Jaitley Writes To PM Modi
Mumbai: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he does not want to become a minister in the new BJP government due to health reasons.
In a four-paragraph letter, Jaitley said that he verbally informed Modi about his desire to be a part of the new BJP government so that he could be able to focus on treatment and health.
“I am writing to you to formally request you that I should be allowed a reasonable time for myself, my treatment and my health, and therefore, not be a part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new government,” he wrote.
During the last eighteen months, I have had some serious health challenges. My doctors enabled me to emerge out of most of them. After the campaign had concluded and you were leaving for Kedarnath, I had orally informed you,” he added.
