“Double-Engine Government Of BJP Worked Well”: Maha CM On Early Trends Of MP, Rajasthan Poll Results

Mumbai: As the results from the Election Commission of India showed the BJP leading both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Sunday attributed the party’s success in the states to its two-engine government.

At 11:48 am, the ECI reported that the BJP was leading in 157 of the 230 seats, the Congress in 71, and the Bahujan Samaj Party in one.

In Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janata Party has passed the halfway point, according to the most recent data from the Election Commission of India. The Rajasthan assembly has 199 seats, with 100 serving as the midway point. For the past term, the Congress has ruled Rajasthan.

Taking a jibe at the INDIA bloc, CM Shinde said, “BJP is winning in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The double-engine government of BJP has worked well in winning these elections, all this is happening because of Narendra Modi and his dedication. INDIA bloc does not speak on development whereas the Modi government speaks on development.”

Today, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took part in several cleaning drives throughout Mumbai and educated the public about the ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’. CM Eknath Shinde traveled to Malabar Hills and Kamla Nehru Park in Mumbai.

The ruling BJP looked certain to win a landslide victory in the Madhya Pradesh elections, and as the Assembly polls were being counted on Sunday, there was a festive atmosphere at the party’s headquarters in Bhopal, the state capital, where Chief Minister Shivraj Chauhan was considering a potential fourth term in office.

The BJP and the Congress, whose then-15-month government was overthrown in 2020 with assistance from Jyotiraditya Scindia, who defected to the BJP from the Congress, fought for control of the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
