ED Books Raj Kundra For Money Laundering In Porn Videos Case
Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a money laundering case against actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra in connection with the production and circulation of pornography films.
Although there has been no update on the matter since then, Raj has been maintaining a low profile and comes across only with a strange face mask every time he bounces.
As per the latest reports, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case against Raj Kundra in the porn racket case and he will be called for questioning soon. The ED is probing the financial transactions of Raj and others involved in the racket, including those located abroad.
According to an ETimes report, an ED source said that the case was registered last week after careful scrutiny of all the data and the summons is likely to start soon.
The ED had earlier collected a copy of the Mumbai Police FIR (First Investigation Report) against Kundra and others. Further details are still awaited. Along with Kundra, his company’s IT chief Ryan Thorpe was also arrested last year for his alleged involvement in the case.
Raj Kundra was arrested in connection with this alleged porn racket after an investigation revealed that Raj Kundra was a key conspirator in the case. The alleged pornographic material was being distributed on subscription-based mobile apps such as HotHit Movies and Hotshots as well as websites such as Hothitmovies, Nuefliks, and Escape now.
The Hotshots app, which has now been taken down from the Play Store, was developed by Armsprime Media Pvt Ltd, which was founded by Kundra in 2019. Armsprime later sold Hotshots to Kenrin Limited, a UK-based firm owned by Kundra’s brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi.
Police said they retrieved porn clips from Raj Kundra’s office and also found WhatsApp chats which show that though Raj Kundra was not officially part of UK-based Kenrin Private Limited, he was the one running the day-to-day operations of uploading porn content to the app.
